Our Very Own Little Christmas Elf & H4 meets the REAL Santa

Sorry for the delay in posting, we had some problems with Windows Vista (imagine that!) on our desktop computer, but after finally getting Windows 7 installed, I think we're back in business! We've been trying to restore all our digital photos since the big crash, thank goodness for regular backups! I've been trying to catch up, thus the "shotgun" style of postings lately...

So, good family friends of ours, Vicki and Arnie, came for a visit this past September. Arnie is actually Santa Claus, (no, really! Pull on his beard!) and was kind enough to bring his suit with him so we could have his picture taken with H4. We met them at The Lodge in Bettendorf, (the old Jumer's, where Heidi and my wedding reception was), and took the photos in their library and by the old sleigh. A huge thank you to Vicki and Arnie for making the time, and hopefully we can make the Santa photos a regular event! :)

Some other big news is that we acquired a new (to us) van! It's an '04 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT, and is awesome, (there, I said it), because we can actually load everyone up including the dog and all of H4's "essentials" and still have room. Unfortunately we didn't have it in time for the trip to West Des Moines for Christmas, so it was us three (no dog this time) in the Wrangler... and yeah, it was a tight fit. We made the best of it though, especially since our Wrangler has a hardtop and excellent heater, something that my parents old CJ7 didn't have. (Many cold nights coming home from the relatives in Wisconsin huddled in sleeping bags with my brother and family dog!)

Also, make sure to check out the updated Pooh pictures! If you click on them, a new window should open and you can read all the clever little captions!
If you would like, please send me an email and I will add you to my broadcast list that I send out informing of the blog update. Don't worry, I won't inundate you with dirty jokes and "if you send this to 200 of your closest friends your wish will come true!" emails. Those never work. And I get a lot of them. You know who you are, so you can stop sending them, otherwise I will be at your doorstep demanding free Applebee's dinners and Best Buy gift cards. :)
