It is often said that it isn't an official holiday until all the family arrives... With our family, it isn't the holiday's until there's an oven fire.
Notice Dad's quick reaction time through the thick smoke as he thought (then thought against) jumping out of his chair to save the day.
Never fear though; Mom's scalloped corn made it through the flames unscathed, but she may cut back a little on the butter next year...
