It's hard to believe that 6 weeks ago this whole new life started, and let me tell you, we've come a long way!
H4 has started to smile a bit more, although it's probably more of a reflex then an actual sincere smile... Except when he passes gas or has a full belly that is! ;) At our 1 month checkup he measured 23" long and weighed in at 10lbs. 1.5oz. He's probably up to 11 or 11.5lbs by now I'm guessing. Especially since he loves to eat and is up to 5-6oz at each feeding. Seems like just yesterday that he would barely take 2-3oz!
He still occasionally gives his mom a hard time by not going to sleep, and generally just being fussy during the day. Fortunately, this is starting to wean off and we're starting to figure out his various cues/sounds. (He's training us very well, and doesn't mince words when he's not getting what he wants!)
Nesmhe, our 4 year old sheltie has accepted H4 into the family... well, that is as long as she still gets to sit on the couch or bed with mom and dad while they're feeding the baby.
(And get her belly rubbed). She's also pleased that her daily Milk-Bone ration has increased... Mainly due to mom and dad's guilt for not spending as much time with her. This will soon change when we start taking H4 out for family walks now that the weather is warming. She loves going on her walks, which is something we haven't done in a while, but are looking forward to continuing.
One neat thing that she's doing is that every so often when H4 is in his room napping, Nesmhe will get up, casually stroll down the hall and go into his room, only to emerge 10 seconds later and return to where she was. She must be mimicking Heidi and I as we're always checking on him. :)
He's too cute! How you managed to get a picture of him smiling, I'll never know!!
