Yikes! Time has gotten away from me a bit, so now to catch up...
Dad is done with his cardio rehab as the nurses got tired of his accusations of them milking his medi-care, so they turned him loose. :) At the beginning they had said that medi-care would pay for up to twelve weeks of therapy. He was definitely not interested in "walking to nowhere" on a treadmill for any longer then absolutely necessary and told him that if he could get out sooner, then that is what they should shoot for.
He has done very well and is almost back up to speed. He goes in next Wednesday to address a "shadow" on his bladder that they found during the scans of his heart, but the doctors think they can get to it without much problem. We'll know more next week. What really stinks is that he has to go in on Monday so they can thicken his blood for two days in preparation for the surgery, has the surgery on Wednesday (April 14th), then another two days to get back on the blood thinner coumadin. So another week in the hospital... yea.
The good news, is that once this surgery is over, he can get back to his normal duties. So everyone keep their fingers crossed, and pray for a good outcome and quick recovery.
