This morning, Heidi, H4 and I were driving along our back road when we came along a horse. Only this horse was walking along the road without it's rider.
He was obviously nervous, and knew that he didn't belong here. We were afraid that he'd be hit by a car, so we parked the Jeep, put on the hazzard lights and tried to help.
Now, my beloved wife is scared of horses. Even horses that are being professionally handled by other people like our neighbors. This was Heidi and a horse be herself (see pic). I dug out my tow rope from the Jeep and we used it as a slip knot to try and direct him out of traffic. A lady came from across the street to lend a hand, but unfortunately didn't know anymore about horses then we did, which is next to nothing. We called the sheriff's office and it turned out that they had a deputy out looking for this horse most of the morning, and apparently the horse was quite a ways a way from home.
So after freezing our tails off, we helped rescue a wayward equine and Heidi conquered one of her fears. H4 stayed in the Jeep smiling at us the whole time thinking he had a new pet or something. He even got to see a "police car!"
A good day for little man.
