Update #3

Late Monday night, we found out that during Dad's ultrasound of his kidneys, the doctors noticed a "shadow" on his bladder, so he has been scheduled for even more tests today to determine what it could be. This news no doubt complicates things some more but one test at a time . . .

I'll add to this posting when I learn more.

** UPDATE**
Just got back from the hospital and had some semi-good news from the urologist. There is a tumor on his bladder, but it's only 14mm across and can be taken out 12 weeks after the heart surgery. It sucks that it's there, but great that it isn't more serious then it is.

Looks like the aortic valve replacement will happen Thursday morning at 7am, and will last anywhere from 4-6 hours. It's being performed by a University of Iowa Cardiovascular surgeon that is well renowned in this area and actually specializes in this very procedure, so we are blessed to have him.

Thanks for all the phone calls and visits, mom & dad really appreciate it and will need all the support we can get over the next few days and on through recovery.
